The Basics

The course begins with a look at getting started with Outlook 2013. Participants are shown how to use the Folder Pane, how to use Peeks, and how to use the notification icon.

Working with E-Mail Message

Microsoft Outlook is a widely used e-mail program. This module starts off with a look at how to open, reply to, forward, and delete messages.

Creating Messages

In this module, participants are shown how to create a new message, format text, attach files or items, change message themes, check spelling, and send a message.

Working with the Calendar

Another strength of Outlook is its calendar functionality. This module teaches participants how to make the most of their Outlook calendar. They will learn how to find and open the calendar, create appointments and meetings, work with the Daily Task List, change the calendar view, and use the Weather Bar.

Working with Tasks

The course then moves on to look at tasks. In this module, participants will learn how to open the Tasks folder, create and delete tasks, change the task view, and update the completion status of a task.

Working with Notes

Here, the focus is on notes and how to work with them. Participants are taught how to open the Notes folder, create and delete notes, arrange existing notes, and change the note view.

Working with People

Keeping a list of contacts is a handy skill to have and this module details how to do that with Outlook 2013. The module shows how to open the People folder and create a new contact. It shows how to mark a contact as a favorite and how to change the contact view. It wraps up with a look at how to create a new contact group.

Using Social Networks

Social networks have become a part of everyday life and can be integrated into Outlook 2013. Participants will learn how to connect to a social network, how to view social network contacts and information, as well as how to remove social networks from Outlook.

Getting Organized

It pays to be organized and this module shows participants how to do that in relation to Microsoft Outlook 2013. Topics include how to create folders, move existing items into folders, categorize items, use the search and filter tools, and manage junk mail.

Using Conversations

This module covers how to read and work with conversations, turn conversations on and off, clean up folders or conversations, and ignore a conversation.

Customizing the Interface
